Confirmed: Bayern goalkeeper to miss Olympics due to injury

Bayern Munich have confirmed that Daniel Peretz has sustained an injury that will keep him out of the Olympics.

Daniel Peretz was supposed to participate in the Olympic Games with Israel in Paris.

However, the goalkeeper will not be able to represent his country at the tournament due to a tendon injury in his thigh that will keep him out for several weeks.

This was confirmed by Bayern Munich on Thursday evening.

Peretz has commented on the injury on Instagram, staying:

"It's always difficult to be so close to your dream and then realize you can not experience it, not at this time.

"The timing of my injury with the expected time healing are making the small odds I believed will happen now really impossible.

“I trust my friends and the staff to achieve our goals, now I'm the biggest fan. Thanks everyone for the warm messages, I promise I'll be back stronger and better.”

Peretz joined Bayern from Maccabi Tel Aviv in the summer of 2023 for a fee of €5 million.

Since then, the 24-year-old goalkeeper has made two appearances for the Bavarians.
