In the final Bundesliga match of the weekend, Heidenheim and Hoffenheim played out a 0-0 draw at the Voith-Arena.

The first half was devoid of any real chances as both teams were well organized and kept each other at bay.

After the break, however, the game opened up and Hoffenheim created the first real chance of the evening when Hoffenheim striker Marius Bülter's shot towards the bottom left corner was kept out by Kevin Müller in the 51st minute.

As the half wore on, it was Heidenheim who looked the most threatening, with Leo Scienza going close just before the hour mark, taking a couple of nice touches in the box before firing just wide.

In the 70th minute, Heidenheim coach Frank Schmidt brought on Maximilian Breunig, who wasted a golden opportunity shortly after coming on. The striker's close-range shot was sensationally saved by Hoffenheim goalkeeper Oliver Baumann, and Paul Wanner blasted the rebound over the crossbar.

Baumann's fine reflexes were called into action again a few minutes later when his fingertips kept out a dangerous Scienza shot for a corner.

In the 83rd minute, Heidenheim's Sirlord Conteh found himself through on goal, but was denied after taking too long to shoot.

Ultimately, not least thanks to Baumann's late heroics, the game ended in a tie that Hoffenheim will probably be happier with than Heidenheim.

The draw means that Heidenheim are 10th in the Bundesliga table, while Hoffenheim are 15th.
