After helping Hamburger SV return to the Bundesliga with 22 goals in the 2. Bundesliga last season, Davie Selke left the North German club when his contract expired.
The 30-year-old striker opted to join Turkish side Başakşehir as a free agent, but he can envision a return to the German top flight in the future.
“Of course. There were talks last summer – and in the future there will be opportunities that could allow me to return,” Selke told Sport Bild.
“I’m also very proud and happy to have played in Germany for many big, tradition-rich clubs (Werder, Köln, HSV, Hertha and RB Leipzig) – and my career is far from over.”
Selke has scored four goals in 11 appearances for Başakşehir so far.
