Ritsu Doan will not feature when Japan face the United States in a friendly on Wednesday.
The Japanese Football Association has confirmed that the Eintracht Frankfurt winger has left the camp early for “club-related reasons.”
According to German journalist Christopher Michel, who follows Eintracht Frankfurt closely, Doan has returned to Germany to ensure he is fully fit for the club’s crucial Bundesliga clash with Bayer Leverkusen on Friday.
Since his move from Freiburg in the summer, Doan has made an impressive start at Eintracht, scoring four goals in his first three games.
Eintracht have won their first two Bundesliga games of the season.
