Magdeburg leading race for Bayern youngster Felipe Chávez

Felipe Chávez looks set to leave Bayern Munich on loan for the second time in his young career, with his next destination still undecided.

According to BILD's Nicolas Linner, Magdeburg have made a particularly strong push to sign the 18-year-old, while fellow German clubs Eintracht Braunschweig and Heidenheim are also interested. Portuguese first-division side Estrela Amadora are reportedly in the race as well.

The decision is expected to be made soon, with Bayern and Chávez both favouring another loan move to give the youngster valuable playing time.

Chávez made his senior debut for Bayern in January 2026 and subsequently joined 1. FC Köln on loan for the remainder of the season. He made seven Bundesliga appearances during his spell with the club before returning to Munich this summer.

However, Vincent Kompany currently does not see a place for Chávez in his first-team plans. With competition for places at Bayern remaining fierce, another loan is viewed as the best option for the talented midfielder to continue his development.

The teenager remains under contract with Bayern until 2028, meaning the Bavarian giants are looking to find a destination where he can receive regular senior football rather than make a permanent decision on his future.

Magdeburg currently appear to be pushing hardest, but Braunschweig, Heidenheim and Estrela Amadora could still win the race. Chávez's next chapter is therefore likely to take place away from Munich - at least for the coming season.
