Said El Mala has reportedly caught the eye of several top clubs with his performances for 1. FC Köln this season, including Borussia Dortmund.

Speaking after Saturday's 1-0 win over Köln, Dortmund managing director for sport Lars Ricken confirmed that El Mala is indeed a player being closely monitored by the Black and Yellows.

“First of all, you have to say that he’s really developing impressively. Besides the goalkeeper (Marvin Schwäbe, editor's note), he was Köln's best player [in Saturday's game],” Ricken told Bild Sport.

“Of course, we monitor players in this age segment extremely closely. We will watch this market and track Said’s development,” he added.

El Mala has scored three goals and provided an assist in nine games for Köln this season.
