The Black and Yellows appear to have missed out on their man as Premier League spending power reigns supreme.

Borussia Dortmund target Rayan Cherki is set to undergo his medical at Manchester City within the next 48 hours.

Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg has reported that a fee between €35million and €40million will be paid by the Citizens.

Meanwhile, French news source L'Équipe notes a €40.5million fee with €2.5million in bonuses and a 15% sell on profit for Lyon.

All details have been finalised between the Frenchman and the Premier League club, with the player always keen on a move to City.

Dortmund pushed hard to get Cherki last January, but in doing so seemed to sour their relationship with Lyon's president.

It appeared that Die Schwarzgelben's focus then turned to Jobe Bellingham, who is currently in the Dortmund for a medical himself.

FC Bayern were never seriously in the race in recent months – despite repeated reports, there were no advanced contacts.
