Ducksch responds to confusion over length of his Werder contract

Until recently, it was widely believed that Marvin Ducksch had a contract with Werder Bremen until 2026.

However, according to Italian transfer market insider Fabrizio Romano, the striker's deal expires in the summer, but could be automatically extended if he makes a certain number of appearances.

Asked about this by Sport Bild, Ducksch was tight-lipped:

“I'm not going to talk about contract details. And as I've already emphasized: Werder is a top club, something is being built here - and I feel very comfortable in Bremen. Werder suits me,” said the striker.

The 30-year-old has been consistently linked with a move away from Werder in recent years, but hasn't made a move yet.

“I've had attractive offers in the past, but I won't leave Bremen for a few euros more. It was a very important sign that we kept all the key players last summer.”
