At just 16, Kennet Eichhorn has already become a key player for Hertha BSC, with his impressive performances attracting interest from some of Europe’s top clubs.

Hertha sporting director Benjamin Weber, however, insists he is focused on the youngster’s development rather than the transfer fee he could generate.

“For us, when it comes to Kennet Eichhorn – as with all our talents – the priority is not a number, but his continuous sporting development. What matters most is that we continue to work on his growth together, with calm and careful judgment. We have a clear, realistic development plan for him, created in close coordination with the player and his environment,” Weber told Transfermarkt.

“We are aware of his potential, but we also know that development is not linear. Our goal is to support him as best as possible and give him the time and platform he needs for his next steps.”

As things stand, Eichhorn could reportedly leave Hertha next summer for a fee between €10 and €12 million due to his release clause.

However, it has been suggested that the club would like to tie him down to a new deal and remove the release clause in the process.
