As reported by Teamtalk, Leeds United are currently considering making a move for RB Leipzig defender El Chadaille Bitshiabu.

The Yorkshire club have identified issues with their defence and the 20-year-old's willingness to move is said to be high.

Aside from Leeds, fellow Premier League side West Ham United are also reportedly interested in the Frenchman.

However, the fact Red Bull has been a silent minority shareholder in Leeds since last year gives them the upper hand in negotiations.

The centre-half has only accumulated around 200 minutes of playing time across five games in the first half of the season.

Nevertheless, the Saxony club are ruling out a permanent departure of Bitshiabu, instead preferring a loan deal.

This also suits Leeds United, who are looking to strengthen their squad as cost-effectively as possible during the winter transfer window.
