Bayern Munich supervisory board member Uli Hoeneß caused a stir with his appearance on the TV program Sport1 Doppelpass on Sunday, weighing in on a range of topics.

Among other things, Hoeneß claimed that Bayern did not pay the reported €16.5 million loan fee to bring in Nicolas Jackson from Chelsea, but rather €13.5 million, stating that the player and his agent covered €3 million themselves.

He also claimed that Jackson’s €65 million purchase clause will only be triggered if the striker makes 40 starts for Bayern.

“He will never do that,” Hoeneß said, making it clear that the club does not expect the clause to come into effect automatically.

Just a few hours later, Jackson’s agent, Diomansy Kamara, appeared to respond via Instagram.

“Many talk, but few tell the truth,” he wrote, seemingly throwing a subtle jab at Hoeneß.

“Our only priority is Senegal’s decisive match for World Cup qualification. This is a crucial moment for the entire nation.

"The rest will be dealt with later, at the appropriate moment.”

The Senegal international could make his Bayern debut when they face Hamburger SV on Saturday.
