Germany coach Julian Nagelsmann was satisfied after Saturday’s 2–1 friendly win over the United States.
The 38-year-old believes the match gave his players a good impression of what to expect at the upcoming World Cup, with Germany’s opener scheduled for June 14 against Curaçao.
“It was a perfect test for us in terms of the weather conditions and the opponent, who plays with a lot of emotion,” Nagelsmann told RTL after the game.
“We now have two [World Cup warm-up friendly] wins in a row, which is not easy to achieve."
Nagelsmann went on to praise the atmosphere at Soldier Field in Chicago, where the World Cup co-hosts enjoyed strong support.
“It’s a different kind of game playing against a host nation compared to another country. The atmosphere was great and we achieved a good result.”
