Neuer misses start of Germany training camp ahead of Euros

Manuel Neuer's arrival at Germany's training camp has been postponed due to an infection.

The German national team began the final phase of their preparations for Euro 2024 on Sunday with the first day of their training camp in Thuringia.

However, captain Manuel Neuer was absent due to an infection, the German Football Association has announced. It's unclear when the veteran goalkeeper will be able to join the rest of the squad.

Bayer Leverkusen trio Robert Andrich, Jonathan Tah and Florian Wirtz will travel at a later time after winning the DFB-Pokal final in Berlin on Saturday night, as will captain Ilkay Gündogan and Marc-André ter Stegen, who will play for Barcelona on Sunday.

Real Madrid's Toni Kroos and Antonio Rüdiger will face Borussia Dortmund's Niclas Füllkrug and Nico Schlotterbeck in the Champions League final on June 1, so those four players will also link up with the national team later on.

As announced earlier this week, U21 prospects Rocco Reitz (Gladbach) and Brajan Gruda (Mainz) will train with the senior side until Friday.
