Newcastle make contact with Freiburg over Switzerland breakout star Manzambi

Johan Manzambi has caught the eye at the World Cup, racking up three goals and two assists in four appearances for Switzerland so far.
During the tournament, speculation has grown over a potential move to Newcastle United for the SC Freiburg midfielder, and it now appears the Premier League side have taken the next step.
According to Sky Germany, Newcastle have opened talks with Freiburg over a possible move for the 20-year-old midfielder this summer.
Freiburg are reportedly holding out for a transfer fee of up to €60 million for the highly-rated youngster.
Unfortunately for Switzerland and Manzambi, the 20-year-old is set to miss the upcoming round of 16 clash against Colombia after Swiss outlet Blick reported that he suffered a knee injury during the final training session ahead of the game.
