Denis Zakaria has decided that he wants to leave Borussia Mönchengladbach on a free transfer at the end of the season, according to Bild.

Citing sources close to the player, the German tabloid claims the 25-yar-old has ruled out extending his contract, which expires in the summer of 2022.

Zakaria has been linked with a host of European top clubs, including Manchester United, Liverpool, FC Barcelona, Juventus, Inter, Roma and Borussia Dortmund, with the midfielder seemingly particularly keen on a move to England.

Zakaria, who joined Gladbach from Young Boys in 2017, has been stalling on a new deal for a while.

He has made a total of 140 appearances for 'Die Fohlen', racking up 11 goals and eight assists.
