VfB Stuttgart's 3-2 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt this evening proved to be a special moment for match-winner Nikolas Nartey.

“Scoring my first Bundesliga goal was a wonderful feeling," the Danish midfielder said after the game at the MHP Arena.

"It’s a very nice and important win, and also a deserved one. I’ve constantly worked hard after all the setbacks and always believed in myself.

“I’m very thankful that I’m fit and healthy and can give something back with my performance,” he continued.

Stuttgart coach Sebastian Hoeneß was equally delighted with the result and hailed his side's spirit throughout the 90 minutes.

“Reaching the halfway point of the season with 32 points is not to be taken for granted. The reaction from the team to Frankfurt’s equaliser was incredible.

"The spirit and the desire are there. The boys know that they can very often come back and create something.

“You felt that and saw that again today – and that’s a very important basis for the rest of the season,” Hoeneß said with a smile.
