FC Augsburg have signed Portuguese U-20 international Rodrigo Ribeiro on loan from Sporting Lisbon until the end of the season.
The Bundesliga club based in Bavaria have also secured an option to buy from the club located in the heart of the Portuguese capital.
Ribeiro progressed through all of Sporting Lisbon's youth teams and made his debut in the Champions League against Manchester City in March 2022.
At 16 years and 10 months old, the striker became the second-youngest Champions League player in the club's history.
He has made twelve competitive appearances for Sporting's first team so far and also spent six months on loan with Nottingham Forest in the 2023/24 season.
“The path Rodrigo has taken at just 20 years old is impressive. He brings technical quality, dynamism and goal threat.
"He expands our options in attack and at the same time increases the competition for his position – exactly what we need.
"We look forward to taking the next step together with him,” explained Augsburg sporting director Benni Weber.
