Report: Wolfsburg target Vargas and Wimmer

Kicker reports that Wolfsburg are looking at Ruben Vargas (Augsburg) and Patrick Wimmer (Arminia Bielefeld).
VfL Wolfsburg have targeted Augsburg's Ruben Vargas and Arminia Bielefeld's Patrick Wimmer as they look to reinforce their attack, according to Kicker.

Per the report, Wolfsburg are unlikely to make big investments this summer due to the financial impact Russia's invasion of Ukraine has had on the club's owner and main sponsor, Volkswagen.

However, as Vargas and Wimmer are under contract until 2025, none of them are expected to be available at a bargain price if their teams stay in the Bundesliga.

In addition to an attacking player, Wolfsburg are looking for a replacement for John Anthony Brooks, who will leave the club as a free agent.
