Union set to sign Freiburg midfielder

Kicker reports that Union Berlin are set to sign Janik Haberer from Freiburg.

Per the German football magazine, the 28-year-old will make the switch to Union on a free transfer when his contract expires at the end of the season.
Back in March, Freiburg sporting director Jochen Saier admitted that Haberer would probably leave the club:
"We currently assume that Janik will be looking for a new challenge for himself," he said at the time.
FC Köln, Mainz and Schalke 04 were reportedly also interested in Haberer, who has spent the last six years in Freiburg.
