Sky Report: Krauß to Schalke deal nears finish line

Sky Germany reports that the long-reported-upon move of RB Leipzig midfielder Tom Krauß to FC Schalke 04 is finally taking shape.
Many top division clubs have maintained interest in Germany U21 midfielder Tom Krauß after his standout season on loan at 1. FC Nürnbberg. Over the past three weeks, most of the rumor mills have focused Schalke's courtship of the RB Leipzig man. Reports have surfaced over various negotiations concerning a loan fee and an obligatory purchase option.

Sky Germany now reports the deal to loan the 20-year-old out to the newly promoted Königsblauen is almost through. Sky claims that a loan deal with a purchase obligation has been finalized and that Krauß will be presented as a Schalke player over the weekend.

It remains unknown at this point if the mandatory purchase clause is linked to Schalke's retainment of the class, though there is some speculation out there that this has been built in. Krauß netted three goals and added four assists at Nürnberg last year.
