Sport Bild Report: Frankfurt and Gladbach also target Gosens

Germany's main sporting tabloid reports that Leverkusen will have plenty of competition in the race to sign German fullback Robin Gosens this coming winter.
While, after a collapsed transfer near the end of this summer's window, Leverkusen are still considered the favorites to bring Robin Gosens back to his native country during the winter window, Germany's Sport Bild reports that at least two other Bundesliga clubs are also preparing to make a push. Eintracht Frankfurt and Borussia Mönchengladbach are listed as the interested parties.

Such links would certainly make sense from the perspective of both clubs. Frankfurt, having lost Filip Kostic during the offseason, have settled on the oft-injured Christopher Lenz as their starting left fullback/wingback. Gosens' former Serie A colleague Luca Pellegrini has delivered mixed results in his starts on the left-hand-side.

Gladbach may also have an acute need on the left in the event that, as is expected, Ramy Bensebaini departs during the coming transfer period. The foals have a certain geographical advantage when it comes to attracting the player as well. Gosens' hometown of Emmerich is practically next door to the BMG base.
