Fabrizio Romano: Leipzig show interest in Canadian striker
Italian transfer guru Fabrizio Romano reports that RB Leipzig, among others, are interested in making a play for Canadian striker Jonathan David.
Jonathan David | Supporterhéninois CCO 1.0 |
David was linked with a switch to FC Bayern München last summer as a potential replacement for the departed Robert Lewandowski. In the end, the price tag (David was considered worth upwards of €70 million at the time) proved too much for the Bavarian club tangentially interested in bringing David in to serve alongside countryman Alphonso Davies.
David's estimated worth has dropped a bit after a disappointing World Cup. A well-monetized club such as Leipzig could sign the player without much concern over the outlay. The current joint top-scorer in the French top division's contract with his current Ligue 1 side runs through 2025. David has netted 15 goals and chipped in four assists for Lille thus far this season.
Leipzig, among other clubs, are heavily interested in Jonathan David — he’s a top target as being able to play as a target ST & 2nd ST. 🇨🇦

They are looking at solutions internally, but it seems difficult as very expensive one.
