Newly-promoted Bundesliga side Darmstadt appear to be closing in on a deal to sign Fortuna Düsseldorf defender Christoph Klarer.

According to Bild, Darmstadt have agreed personal terms with the 23-year-old centre-back.

However, the two clubs are yet to agree a transfer fee, with Fortuna Düsseldorf said to be holding out for around 2.5 million euros for Klarer.

According to Bild, the 2. Bundesliga side have already rejected two offers from Darmstadt, but it's not unlikely that an agreement will be reached, especially considering that Klarer has just one year left on his contract.
