VfL Wolfsburg are reportedly looking to extend the contract of Aster Vranckx.

According to Sky Germany, both the club and the player are ready to start talks on a new deal as soon as the January transfer window closes.

With Vranckx's current deal set to expire in 2025, Wolfsburg would like to extend it to ensure there's no pressure to sell in the summer.

The 21-year-old midfielder joined Wolfsburg from KV Mechelen in 2021. Since then, his playing time has fluctuated, and he spent last season on loan at AC Milan.

He came close to joining PSV in the summer, but ultimately stayed and has battled his way into Niko Kovac's starting lineup.
