Mehlem suffers new injury setback
For the second time this season, Marvin Mehlem has suffered a fibula fracture.
SV Darmstadt have announced that Marvin Mehlem has suffered another injury setback.
The 26-year-old sustained a broken fibula in Saturday's 1-1 draw with Werder Bremen and will undergo surgery this week.
It's the second time this season that Mehlem has broken his fibula, and he had only just battled his way back from a spell on the sidelines.
"We fully sympathize with Marvin because we know how sad he is that he won't be able to help the team in the upcoming games," said Darmstadt coach Torsten Lieberknecht.
"All of us at the club are keeping our fingers crossed for him and will give him all the support we can during his rehab."
