Having already spent the majority of the season on the sidelines, Robin Hack has suffered another injury setback.

Speaking to Bild, Gladbach coach Eugen Polanski confirmed that the 27-year-old winger sustained a muscle fiber tear in his adductor after recently returning to team training.

“Everything was actually going really well for Robin. Unfortunately, he has now suffered this fiber tear. As a result, he’s out again,” Polanski told Bild, adding that the news is “not welcome” for either the player or the club.

Hack has been a key figure for Die Fohlen in recent seasons, but he has made just five appearances this campaign, scoring twice.

On the brighter side for Gladbach, Nathan Ngoumou has resumed parts of team training following a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

However, Polanski stressed that he is “still very far from the Bundesliga squad”, with Gladbach taking a cautious approach to getting him back to full fitness.
