Reports: Bayern consider oversized offers for Maatsen and Araujo
Separate reports from German transfer guru Florian Plettenberg and Spanish sports daily "Marca" claim that German giants FC Bayern München are prepared to significantly overpay for a pair of defenders as part of their summer re-stock.

The impeding departure of Alphonso Davies will leave Bayern in need of an additional left back. Sky Germany's Florian Plettenberg reports that the club has current Borussia Dortmund loanee Ian Maatsen of Chelsea FC in their sights. The Dutchman is thought to have a release clause in the neighborhood of some €40 million; a sum far too rich for Dortmund's blood. Plettenberg claims that Bayern are willing to fork over this sum even though Maatsen's current estimated market worth stands at only €20 million.
In other Bayern-related transfer news, rumors linking Barcelona center back Ronald Araujo with a move to German football are cropping up again. A report emerging in Spanish sports daily "Marca" today asserts that Bayern may be willing to break the €100 million threshold for the 25-year-old. The Uruguayan international presently maintains an estimated market worth of some €70 million. The Spanish paper cites internal sources to allege that Bayern have informed Barça of their intentions and that the player has already been offered a contract.
