Thomas Delaney admits he isn't happy with his current substitute role at Borussia Dortmund.

The Danish international has been on the bench for four games in a row, with Axel Witsel and Julian Weigl currently being BVB coach Lucien Favre's preferred duo in the middle of the park.

"[Favre] feels that my competitors are in better form. That's how it is. I've been given an explanation, and it's hard to say anything to that," Delaney told Danish football news outlet Bold.dk and added:

"I don't agree with the coach. But I'll just have to accept that it's his job. And it's not like I'm the only good player on the bench.

"Fortunately, we have many games in front of us, so I'm convinced that things will change. But it isn't optimal for me at the moment," Delaney said.

Delaney, 28, has made nine appearances for Dortmund this season.
