Werder coach Florian Kohfeldt won't rule out Milot Rashica stay

Werder Bremen coach Florian Kohfeldt says he has to assume that Milot Rashica will feature in the club's first game of the upcoming season despite speculation linking the 24-year-old with RB Leipzig and Aston Villa.
It's not out of the question that Milot Rashica could feature in Werder Bremen's first Bundesliga game of the 2020/21 season against Hertha BSC on September 19, says head coach Florian Kohfeldt.

Rashica has been heavily linked with a move away from the club, with the likes of RB Leipzig and Aston Villa said to be among his suitors, but it seems no quick agreement is in sight.

"We are now at a point in our pre-season, where I've discussed the situation with everyone at the club. From now on, I'll prepare for the first matchday as if Milot Rashica will play," Kohfeldt told reporters.

According to Kohfeldt, Rashica might even stay at the club after the transfer window closes on October 5.

"It's absolutely a realistic possibility that Milot will play on the first Bundesliga matchday. Maybe he will still be here on October 6," said the Werder coach.

According to reports, Werder are holding out for €25 million for Rashica, who is expected to play in a friendly against Austria Lustenau on Monday.
