Matheus Cunha is reportedly close to putting pen to paper on a new contract with Hertha BSC.

According to Bild, Hertha are likely to agree on a contract extension with the 21-year-old in the near future – provided he continues to put in strong performances and show an appropriate attitude.

The new contract is to run until 2025 and include a 25 percent salary increase as well as an exit clause.

Cunha's current deal expires in 2024. He joined Hertha from RB Leipzig in January 2020 and has since emerged as a key player at the German capital club, scoring 12 goals and making seven assists in 25 games so far.
