Fabian explains why his Fenerbahce transfer broke drown

Eintracht Frankfurt's Marco Fabian has explained why he didn't complete his move to Fenerbahce.

With a few days left of the transfer window, Marco Fabian's transfer from Eintracht Frankfurt to Fenerbahce looked certain. However, ultimately, the negotiations broke down, and the Mexican international stayed at Frankfurt.

According to Fenerbahce, Fabian failed to go through the medical check because of a back injury, but the 29-year-old claims the move failed because he discovered that the Turkish side had made some last minute changes to his contract.

"They blamed it on my back, but that's nonsense. Everything was negotitated, the contract was fixed. But five minutes before I was going to sign it, I noticed that some things had changed. And that's not okay. I will not accept that," Fabian says in an interview with Bild.

Instead, Fabian stayed at Frankfurt where he is still under contract until 2019. A winter move could possibly be on the cards for the Mexican international who won't rule out that he could stay either.

"Maybe I'll move then (in January) or I'll stay and even extend my contract if Eintracht wants it. I just have to wait and see what happens," Fabian says.

The 29-year-old midfielder joined Eintracht Frankfurt from Guadalajara in 2016.
