Wolfsburg boss confirms Brekalo wants to leave

Josip Brekalo has told Wolfsburg he wants to leave.
VfL Wolfsburg sporting director Marcel Schäfer has confirmed that Josip Brekalo has handed in a transfer request.

"He has expressed his desire for a transfer," confirmed Wolfsburg sporting director Marcel Schäfer in an interview with Sportbuzzer.

However, he added, it won't be possible to fulfill Brekalo's before "a club comes knocking."

According to reports, Atlético Madrid, Real Sociedad and Betis have expressed interest in the Croatian winger, but can't afford to pay Wolfsburg's asking price of €15 million.

Brekalo still has two years left on his contract with 'Die Wölfe'.
