Germany are sweating over the fitness of Nico Schlotterbeck ahead of their World Cup qualifier against Luxembourg on Friday.
The Borussia Dortmund defender missed Tuesday’s training session in the German national team camp after injuring his foot in Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Hamburger SV.
Germany coach Julian Nagelsmann revealed at a press conference on Monday that things didn't “look ideal” with regard to Schlotterbeck's injury.
“The foot has swollen overnight. The doctors are examining it. We have to wait and see how it develops,” he said.
Germany currently lead Group A in World Cup qualifying with nine points ahead of their final two games against Luxembourg and Slovakia.
