Official: RB Salzburg complete Krätzig transfer

The German youth international full-back will join one of the biggest clubs in Austria.

Franz Krätzig has joined Austrian Bundesliga side RB Salzburg, Bayern Munich have announced this evening.

After rumours emerged at the start of the month linking him with a move, the deal has finally been completed for €3.5million.

Krätzig, who spent the season on loan at FC Heidenheim, could return to his parent club Bayern in the future.

Although he joins Salzburg until 2028, a buy-back option was agreed in the transfer negotiations by the Bavarian giants.

Bayern's sporting director Christoph Freund noted how Krätzig was one of the first youngsters to join the FC Bayern Campus in 2017.

“He has continued to develop over the years, becoming a German youth international, among other things, and has now made over 20 Bundesliga appearances.

“He's another player trained by FC Bayern and making his way into professional football. We wish him all the best,” Freund added.
