For the second time this calendar year, Yanik Spalt has extended his contract with VfB Stuttgart.

As the club announced, the 18-year-old has committed to the club "long-term" and did not provide further details regarding the deal.

The Swabian side's U-19 captain had already extended his contract in February, and now this is his second commitment.

“Yanik has significantly accelerated his development over the past six months as the undisputed leader of the U19 team.

"He is now successfully building a connection to our U21 squad. Yanik knows what he wants and where he wants to go.

"At the same time, he demonstrates a high level of willingness and ability to learn,” said academy director Stephan Hildebrandt.

Spalt recently started two consecutive matches for Stuttgart's reserve team in the 3. Liga, featuring in both games on the left wing.
