Wolfsburg quietly confirm Vavro arrival

Though it was evidently too late to give the Slovakian international a formal roll-out, VfL Wolfsburg have confirmed the signing of FC Copenhagen defender Denis Vavro on loan.

Vavro himself has not issued a public statement yet. Instead, VfL sporting director Sebastian Schindzielorz handled the public relations side.

Shortly after Konstantinos Koulierakis' formal roll-out at VfL Wolfsburg, Germany's green company team confirmed - as rumored - that they had secured the services of Fc Copenhagen central defender Denis Vavro on loan. The 28-year-old was not given a formal introduction due to the lateness of the hour. Most all German footballing media sources report that the Lower Saxons have secured a purchase option as part of the loan deal.

“We are delighted that Denis Vavro is joining VfL Wolfsburg," sporting director Sebastian Schindzielorz noted in a club statement, "He is an internationally proven defender, whose qualities we were already able to get an idea of during the observation of [former Copenhagen teammate] Kamil Grabara."

He has gained experience both with FC Copenhagen in the Champions League and most recently as a regular with the Slovakian national team," Schinzielorz continued, "We are convinced that he is the perfect addition to our young players in central defense. We can now fill the gap in this position created by the departures of Maxence Lacroix and Moritz Jenzwith Konstantinos Koulierakis and Denis Vavro."
