Saturday's hosts secured their first three points of the season on matchday two, comfortably seeing off newly-promoted Holstein Kiel by two goals to nil after goals from Maximilian Arnold and Sebastiaan Bornauw.

The win brought three points back to Wolfsburg after falling to a narrow defeat at home against Bayern Munich the week prior, a game in which the Wolves had led for large periods of the second half.

Manager Ralph Hasenhüttl carries hopes that the home atmpsphere at Volkswagen Arena will be as vociferous as the travelling support in Kiel before the break after expressing concerns regarding the clubs support during the defeat against Bayern.

Hasenhüttl's side have won just two out of their last twelve home encounters, however, a positive showing against Bayern and subsequent first win of the season will give the Austrian coach hopes going into the third matchweek of the season.

Team News

Wolfsburg go into this weekend with multiple injury concerns, being without Bartosz Bialek, Joakim Maehle, Lukas Nmecha, Kevin Paredes and Rogerio.

There are also doubts regarding the fitness of midfielder Lovro Majer, however Hasenhüttl could call upon a midfield of Mattias Svanberg, Salih Ozcan and Maximilian Arnold.

Eintracht Frankfurt

Visitors Eintracht Frankfurt went into the international period after a thoroughly deserved home 3-1 win against Hoffenheim. A game in which Eintracht created three times as many big chances in comparison to their opponents on the day.

An impressive element of their performance was the ability to quickly respond after seeing the 2-0 lead sliced in half, with Andrej Kramaric netting for Hoffenheim. Omar Marmosh soon restored the two-goal cushion in the 56th minute, just two minutes after Hoffenheim believed to have given themselves a lifeline.

Dino Toppmöller will carry the hope that the win at the end of August can kickstart a period of momentum for Saturday's visitors after a five-match winless streak extending back to last campaign.

Toppmöller's side have won just twice across the course of their last 11 top-flight matches, keeping just one clean sheet in the last 17.

Team News

Eintracht do not carry the concerns in regards to injury when compared with their opponents. However, both Oscar Hojlund and Medhi Loune will be unavailable for selection.
