Fuming Undav laments "shitty set-piece goal" after Real Madrid defeat

Deniz Undav was visibly frustrated that Stuttgart came away empty-handed from their away game against Real Madrid despite making the reigning champions fight hard for their three points.

VfB Stuttgart put up a good fight against Real Madrid, but ultimately fell to a 3-1 defeat at the hands of the reigning Champions League holders at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu on Tuesday night.

The Bundesliga side failed to take their chances in the first half and fell behind when Kylian Mbappé opened the scoring early in the second half.

Deniz Undav pulled a goal back for the visitors, but Antonio Rüdiger's header and Endrick's counter-attacking goal saw them go down to defeat.

Speaking to Prime Video after the game, Undav refused to be congratulated for a good performance as he was still too frustrated by the defeat.

"We knew we'd be punished against Real Madrid if we didn't score up front," said a fuming Undav.

"Then we conceded just 20 seconds into the second half, which was unfortunate. After that, we came back well and fortunately made it 1-1, but then we conceded from a shitty set-piece and a counter-attack at the end. That's Real Madrid for you," the striker continued.
