Bayern Munich may have to manage without two of their attacking stars when they take on Augsburg in the Bundesliga on Saturday.

According to Bild, Serge Gnabry and Lennart Karl both missed Bayern’s final training session ahead of the game.

At his pre-match press conference, Bayern coach Vincent Kompany confirmed that Dayot Upamecano is unavailable due to illness.

He also expressed concern about the possibility of others in the squad being affected.

“Let's see who else will be missing. Nobody else for physical reasons. But if a virus comes into the dressing room, I get scared. I hope nobody will be sidelined. But Upa will be in bed for a few more days - and hopefully nobody else,” Kompany said.

It's unclear whether Gnabry and Karl are also sidelined by illness. However, given that both missed the final training session, they appear unlikely to feature against Augsburg.

Should Gnabry and Karl miss out, Raphael Guerreiro could be deployed in a central attacking midfield role. Alternatively, Harry Kane could drop deeper, with Nicolas Jackson leading the line.

Alphonso Davies, who can play both left-back and on the left wing, and Jamal Musiala are also in the squad, but neither is expected to start, as both are still working to return to top form after lengthy spells on the sidelines.
