Bayern Munich have received an injury boost as Harry Kane resumed running training on Thursday morning.

The England captain was forced off with a minor muscle injury in Saturday's 1-1 draw with Borussia Dortmund.

Due to the injury, he missed Bayern's 1-0 DFB-Pokal defeat to Bayer Leverkusen on Tuesday.

It is unclear when Kane will be able to return to action, but Saturday's Bundesliga clash with Heidenheim comes too soon for him.

“There's a chance he'll play again this year. He'll definitely miss a few games,” Bayern coach Vincent Kompany said ahead of the Leverkusen game.

After taking on Heidenheim, Bayern face Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League on Tuesday, followed by Bundesliga games against Mainz (14 December) and RB Leipzig (20 December).
