The German champions confirmed on Sunday that the 32-year-old picked up an injury during their thrilling 4-3 victory away at 1. FSV Mainz 05 on Saturday.

Following further assessment by Bayern’s medical team, Guerreiro has been diagnosed with a minor muscle tear in his left hamstring. As a result, the versatile defender will be unavailable for the coming fixtures.

He is set to miss Tuesday’s Champions League semi-final clash against Paris Saint-Germain - a major blow given his importance to the squad in multiple roles.

While no definitive timeline has been provided for his return, Bayern will have to cope without one of their most reliable and adaptable players for the foreseeable future.
