It’s no secret that Jamie Gittens is looking to leave Borussia Dortmund this summer - and a move now appears to be edging closer.

According to The Telegraph, Chelsea are eager to secure the signing of the 20-year-old winger before the Club World Cup kicks off in around two weeks.

The report states that Gittens has a €60 million release clause in his contract with Dortmund.

Negotiations between the two clubs are reportedly underway, with the Blues keen to finalize the deal quickly in order to register Gittens in time for the tournament in the United States.

Gittens previously spent six months in Chelsea’s youth academy before moving on to Reading, then Manchester City, and eventually joining Borussia Dortmund in 2020.
