Earlier this month, it was reported that Borussia Dortmund had agreed terms with Chelsea's Renato Veiga in the hope of signing him on loan this winter.

However, the Black and Yellows have struggled to reach an agreement with Chelsea - and now Juventus appear to have taken the lead in the race for the defender's signature.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Juventus are pushing to complete the signing of Veiga, with Dortmund still trying their best to prevail.

Veiga was left out of Chelsea's squad to face Wolverhampton on Monday, with Blues manager Enzo Maresca calling it a "technical decision".

The 21-year-old has made 18 appearances for Chelsea in all competitions this season.

Should they miss out on Veiga, Dortmund could turn their attention to Arsenal's Oleksandr Zinchenko.
