Borussia Mönchengladbach have completed the signing of Isac Lidberg from SV Darmstadt 98.

The 27-year-old striker has put pen to paper on a contract until 2030 with Die Fohlen.

“Isac is a goal threat, physically strong, and knows how to assert himself in duels. Combined with his dynamism and mentality, this paints the picture of an aggressive centre-forward,” said Borussia Mönchengladbach sporting director Rouven Schröder.

“In our talks, we noticed how much desire and ambition he has for the tasks at Borussia, and we are pleased to have filled another important squad position at a high level and at an early stage.”

Lidberg, who scored 31 goals in 58 appearances in the 2. Bundesliga for Darmstadt, said:

“When I heard about Borussia’s interest, I was immediately excited. Borussia is a big club with an impressive history. Already as a child, I followed the Bundesliga and often watched Borussia games. So it didn’t take much convincing. For me, it quickly became clear that I wanted to take this step.”
