New interim sporting director Frank Kramer will presumably have some moves to make in the absence of David Jurasek and Umut Tohumcu.

Bundesliga side TSG 1899 Hoffenheim confirmed on Wednesday afternoon that left-back David Jurasek - whose loan stint with the Kraichgauer was recently extended for another year - will be out indefinitely after suffering a forearm fracture in a recent test fixture against Norwich City. A little later, the Sinsheim-based club also announced that a muscle tear incurred in the same match will also sideline versatile midfielder Umut Tohumcu.
The news is quite bitter for the TSG as both actors played a significant role in head-coach Pellegrino Matarazzo's squad planning. Jurasek was the presumed starting left-back, with only natural winger Marius Bülter and the struggling (after injury) Marco John behind him on the depth chart. Tohumcu made 20 league appearances (14 starts) under Matarazzo last year.
Hoffenheim confirmed surgery for Jrasek on Wednesday afternoon. SC Freiburg skipper Christian Günter and Bayern attacker Serge Gnabry missed most of last season with the same injury. Tohumcu's recovery time is not yet known as the club has only provided scant details about the 19-year-old's injury. A muscle fiber tear nevertheless usually translates to 4-6 weeks on the sidelines.
Hoffenheim are operating without a permanent sporting director following the sacking of Alexander Rosen on Monday. The Rhein-Neckar club confirmed that former Arminia Bielefeld and FC Schalke 04 trainer Frank Kramer - brought on to lead the TSG academy last January - would take over for Rosen on an interim basis for now. Kramer ostensibly has some significant moves to make.
