With one year left on his contract at Borussia Mönchengladbach, Ko Itakura is reportedly seeking a change of scenery.

According to Bild, the 28-year-old will definitely leave; it’s now just a question of when the transfer will be completed and where the central defender will end up.

Itakura has been linked with Bayern Munich, Eintracht Frankfurt and Borussia Dortmund, but the centre-back himself reportedly prefers a move to England.

A fee in the region of €10–12 million should be enough to convince Die Fohlen to sell the defender.

The former Manchester City youth prospect has developed into a key player at Borussia-Park since his reported €5 million move from the Citizens in 2022.
