Germany will be without their captain when they take on Luxembourg in a World Cup qualifier on Friday.
The German Football Association (DFB) confirmed on Thursday that Joshua Kimmich suffered a ligament injury in his right ankle during training on Wednesday.
He will travel with the squad to Luxembourg but will not be available to play. The severity of the injury is unclear at this stage.
According to Bild, Germany will also be without Nico Schlotterbeck, who is recovering from a foot injury sustained in last week’s match against HSV.
Forward Karim Adeyemi is unavailable too due to suspension.
