The midfielder has denied his interest in leaving the Royal Blues in favour of reuniting with his brother at Champions League participant LASK Linz.

According to Fussball Transfers information, Dejan Ljubičić has received two concrete offers to leave FC Schalke 04 this summer.

One of them comes from LASK Linz, who recently secured their place in the Champions League a 5-1 victory over Celtic.

Furthermore, Ljubičić's brother Robert also plays for LASK, which adds another interesting dimension to this rumour.

However the Vienna native, who is still under contract with Schalke until 2028, has said his focus is fully with the Royal Blues.

“I am a Schalke 04 player. I joined in the winter and signed for three years," Ljubičić explained, during an interview with Sky Germany.

"In football, you can never rule anything out, but there is nothing to it. I just watched the game. I was fascinated by what they delivered.

“So, all the best to LASK. I am focused on Sunday’s game against Augsburg,” the 28-year-old said, as the Bundesliga nears it's return.

In the event of a potential sale – should Schalke be willing to consider it – a substantial transfer fee would be required for the Austrian.

In January, Schalke paid Zagreb €750,000 to sign Ljubičić – a transfer now would likely require a significantly higher sum.

Despite feeling financial pressures, Moussa Sylla is considered the number one candidate for sale, and not Dejan Ljubičić.
