Kicker report FC Bayern trio Harry Kane, Michael Olise and Dayot Upamecano will most likely start on the bench for the game against Borussia Dortmund in the Franz Beckenbauer Supercup. The season curtain-raiser will be played on August 22nd.

The reason would be the fact that the players will only have a few days of training before the game. The World Cup semi-finalists are expected to return to Säbener Straße at the end of this week.

They will first report for performance tests before being able to join training sessions. Meanwhile, Vincent Kompany welcomes five players to full training on Monday. New signing Ismael Saibari, Jamal Musiala, Alphonso Davies, Lennart Karl and Serge Gnabry resumed team training after the rest of the team returned from the Asia tour.

FC Bayern haven’t missed a single Supercup since 2012, but it’ll be their first encounter with Borussia Dortmund in five years. Back then, Bayern lifted the trophy with a 3-1 victory in front of only 25,000 fans at Signal Iduna Park due to COVID-19 restrictions.
