At the tail end of May, Frans Krätzig bid farewell to the Bundesrepublik as RB Salzburg came knocking with a €3.5million offer

However, the former Bayern Munich defender has not ruled out a potential return to the Bavarian giants in the future.

“Bayern is one of the biggest clubs in the world. Anyone who doesn't want to play for Bayern has misunderstood the football business.

"It's very conceivable for me to return to FC Bayern at some point. But for now, I want to continue developing in Salzburg.

"I'll take step one, two, and three here. Maybe step four will be a return to FC Bayern,” the 22-year-old told ‘SPOX Redaktion’.

The young German continued, dismissing the perception that Bayern don't give their youth players enough first team opportunities.

“During my time at the club, I had the feeling that a lot of attention was paid to the academy players.

"Otherwise, something like my participation in the Asia tour back then wouldn't have happened.

"Of course, it's nice when young players get chances. But Bayern is one of the biggest clubs in the world, so it's not that easy to reach the top,” he added.
